I had such an amazing date recently and he made a comment that made me stop and think.
He said: “you can document this if you’d like. I know how it works”.
I’ve never been one to photograph dates and I was always taught that phones at the dinner table was rude. Plus, when I’m with a date, I want to be in it fully, but it made me reflect.
When I scroll through Twitter, I see the delicious meals that my fellow companions are eating on dates and think “ooh that looks lovely”, but I’ve never thought that I should be sharing my dates too. Yes, sales psychology says that I should create a sense of “that could be me” with a POV of a date to entice them to book, but I’ve always been an advertisers’ nightmare.
If you’re selling it, I’m probably not buying it.
But it’s made me think about the dates I’ve been on that I haven’t documented; dinner at Tattu, a suite at Hotel du Vin with a bath in the room, gifts of chocolate and books…
So maybe this is going to be an attempt at turning over a new leaf; maybe I’ll start documenting my dates.
Don’t expect an influx of pictures though, I only accept 1 or 2 dates a month. If you want to be one of those, book your date HERE. Oh, and if you’re happy to have photos taken on our date, please let me know.
