Coffee & Conversation

Sometimes the simplest moments are the most memorable. Meet for coffee in a favourite café, browse a bookshop, stroll through a gallery or simply enjoy engaging conversation away from the demands of everyday life.

Please note that this is a purely social experience.

An Elegant Afternoon

Two unhurried hours, entirely ours.

Begin with the pleasures of good company – a museum, beautiful gardens, lunch by candlelight – before we slip away somewhere private, where conversation grows quieter and closer. The afternoon lingers; the afternoon ends wherever we like.

2 hours private – £400

Cocktails After Dark

An evening dressed in low light and lower voices.

We’ll begin over cocktails in an elegant bar or hotel lounge – the flirtation, the anticipation, your hand finding mine across the table – before retiring somewhere private for the part of the evening that needs no audience.

One hour of sparkling tension, two hours of unwinding it.

3 hours – £500

Dinner Companion

Fine dining, effortless conversation, and the delicious knowledge of how the evening ends.

Two hours over a beautifully laid table – whether Michelin-starred or a hidden gem – building an appetite for more than the food. Then, with dessert savoured and the night still young, we retreat somewhere private to close the evening properly.

Dress well. Leave wrinkled.

4 hours – £600

Adventures Outside of Birmingham

There’s something rather romantic about being summoned. A train ticket with my name on it, a city I don’t know yet, and the promise of an afternoon or an evening in your company.

So let’s arrange it.

Where I’ll travel

I’m happy to come to you anywhere within two hours of Birmingham. Think of it as a literary pilgrimage in reverse: instead of the poet travelling to the reader, the reader brings the poet to his door.

How long we’ll spend together

A minimum of three hours, because anything shorter and I’d barely have time to finish a chapter, let alone start a conversation worth having.

  • 3 hours (plus travel) at £600
  • 4 hours (plus travel) at £700

The practical details

Travel expenses are covered by you and arranged at the time of booking. If our date runs past 9pm, a hotel room is required for the night too. To be clear, that’s so I have somewhere comfortable to rest before travelling home, it isn’t an overnight booking. We’ll still say goodnight at the door. Where we meet matters. I stay in 4 and 5 star hotels only, places with proper coffee, crisp linen, and a little atmosphere. Think boutique charm, not budget chains.

A 50% deposit plus expenses secures our date, paid at the time of booking. The remaining balance is settled on the day.
